“An aerial display by the firefly brigade
Dancing to tunes no one knew
In twilight time, dream with me awhile”
-The Moody Blues
I think when we plan our weddings, most of us imagine something like this. Quietly romantic, breezy, elegant, sophisticated, surrounded by the nature that comforts us, and the friends and family we love most.
These simple, understated weddings have a special place in my heart. The unassuming sweetness of wedding days that are focused on marriage, relationships, family… these weddings are never bawdy or raunchy, they don’t get loud, the dance floor doesn’t get sticky.
Meagan Warren expertly coordinated Sarah and David’s wedding, and we have only the highest praise for her and her staff, who pulled off a luxurious outdoor event between freak thunderstorms and ominously black rainclouds all day and night. Outdoor events during stormy season (in North and South Carolina, this is defined as “pretty much all year long”) are always just a little bit chaotic because of storm threats and warnings, crazy biting bugs, surprise heat waves or 30mph winds… there’s always something. I have no idea if anything went wrong at this wedding. Everything seemed perfect. It really, really did.
Sarah and David… thank you so much for letting us be a part of your incredibly beautiful day.
